Shrader Law Office was founded by J. Thompson Shrader in 1982. Stephen R. Eubank joined the firm in 1994. Located in Amherst, we represent individuals and businesses across Central Virginia in a broad range of civil law and criminal matters, with a focus on courtroom litigation.

About Our Law Firm

J. Thompson (Tom) Shrader is a native of Amherst County and has practiced law here for more than 30 years. He presently serves as Commissioner of Accounts for both Amherst and Nelson counties and as attorney for the Amherst County Department of Social Services. Before private practice, he served as counsel to a major life insurance company. Mr. Shrader also handles elder law. He is the Chief of the local volunteer fire department and has been an active volunteer firefighter since 1969. He provides pro bono legal services to numerous volunteer emergency service agencies and other non-profit organizations in the communities we serve.

Stephen R. (Steve) Eubank is a native of Campbell County. He is an experienced trial lawyer who can be found in the courtrooms of Central Virginia on an almost daily basis advocating for our clients. He has written several articles for law journals and is a past president of the Amherst-Nelson Bar Association.

Mr. Shrader and Mr. Eubank are active members of the Lynchburg and Amherst-Nelson Bar Associations and the Virginia State Bar.

Our lawyers strive to be available to our clients. They are known to answer their own phones when they are in the office, and to return calls as promptly as possible if they are not immediately available because they are in Court or meeting with clients. Mr. Shrader and Mr. Eubank do not rely on paralegals to prepare documents; they perform their own title work and prepare their own personal injury filings and family court pleadings. They are hands-on, accessible lawyers who treat clients with respect and believe in doing things thoroughly.
